The dark night of the Soul is a period when there is the death of a big shadow dragon. This occurs when you recognize and integrate a false identity that you have had about yourself. During this process of discovering deeper truths about ourselves, people often go through a terribly difficult period, where they often uncover some of their deepest, darkest shadow secrets. It is also common during this period to lose faith in the Self and in the journey and to feel desperately afraid and alone.
Inner work can illuminate the dark night of the Soul. Through practices and techniques designed to awaken us to the Sacred, we learn how to center and ground ourselves, connecting with the Higher Self and allowing us, through the Soul's inner flame, to consume and transform fear, negativity, self-blame and to heal emotional wounds from the past. Inner work can awaken each Soul on the path to courage, hope and love that resides within us.
Enlightenment is a shift in identity.
Instead of identifying with a false self called the ego, we shift our identity to the eternal Self. While many have glimpses of enlightenment, few of us hold on to the realization of the Self as a permanent state.
The word karma usually carries a negative connotation because when we violate the natural order of things, some form of distortion or confusion is always the result. Good Karma passes unnoticed most of the time, or is disguised as good luck, because it is a continuation of the harmony in our lives. “Luck” never hits a random target, but there would be more of its good side in evidence if we only knew what natural law was all about and how to build our lives around it.
Several kinds of karma are common to everyone: personal, family, national and planetary, and each of us is responsible for all of them in varying degrees.
Sometimes a turning point in life is where we make a choice.
